To be recognized as the central resource and connection point for green resources, events and information.

The GRCA can provide you with resources and information, and steer you towards products that you can use in your home that will begin to save you money and conserve resources.
How is the GRCA organized?
The GRCA is 501 (c) (3) Alabama Corporation governed by a set of by-laws administered by a Board of Director’s. There is also an Advisory Council representing a spectrum of entities related to “green” or sustainable practices.
What is the Advisory Council?
The Advisory Council is comprised of GRCA members representing environmental agencies, schools and universities, builders and contractors, designers and architects, like-missioned NGO’s, and virtually every sector of our community. This dynamic group connects the GRCA with the people and resources necessary for the Center to succeed. It also provides leadership for various GRCA committees, participates in programs, and generally and actively supports the GRCA.
How is the GRCA funded?
The GRCA is funded through five primary sources:
- Grants
- Gifts – both private and corporate
- Memberships
- Program Registration
- Services
Is the GRCA a non-profit organization?
Yes, we are a 501(c) (3) corporation and, as such, all gifts or donations are tax deductible to the maximum extent allowed by law.
How can I participate with the GRCA?
There are several ways an individual can participate with the GRCA. At the base level one can join the GRCA as a member. For more information about joining the GRCA visit our Participate page. A person can also participate by volunteering, supporting us at our many events and programs, and living green while inspiring others to action!
How is the GRCA different than other “green” organizations?
The GRCA not only provides hands-on solutions to a broad spectrum of green issues, it is also designed and maintained to connect people with other organizations and entities. By coming to the GRCA a person will be put in touch with the best resources to address their sustainability questions.
How long has the GRCA been around?
The GRCA became an entity in July of 2007.
Who runs the GRCA?
The GRCA is run by a Board of Directors made up of business and community leaders and design professionals.
How does the GRCA improve the community?
By offering real examples and processes to build, conserve and live in an environmentally conscious and responsible manner.
Does the GRCA serve the average citizen?
Yes. We provide information and access to resources to help the average citizen make decisions regarding how to live in a more eco-friendly manner.
Does the GRCA serve planning, construction, and maintenance professionals?
Yes. We provide information, programs, and a network to inspire, inform, and educate design professionals at all levels of expertise.
Does the GRCA serve policy makers?
Yes. Using case-studies and research we show the value of going “green”- ways in which a community, town or city can save money and natural resources. GRCA also provides resources to help incorporate sustainable practices into local policies and helps identify entities that can support implementation of these policies.
